A Soulful Approach

Whether in person or via telehealth video-conferencing, I provide a safe space for your soulful journey to emotional health and psychological healing. My approach is based in the depth-psychological tradition, creating trusting therapeutic rapport to nurture a respectful alliance, so that growth and change may occur. I intend to give you the support required to enhance self-understanding, processing feelings, and engaging change.

In our work together we might engage in any of the following theoretical approaches in a client-centered manner, depending on your preferences and where the therapy takes us:

  • Humanistic Psychology is a perspective that emphasizes looking at the whole person, and the uniqueness of each individual. Humanistic psychology begins with the existential assumptions that people have free will and motivation to achieve their potential and self-actualize.

  • Positive Psychology is founded on the belief that people want to lead meaningful and fulfilling lives, cultivate what is best within themselves, and enhance their experience of love, work, and play.

  • Buddhist Psychology is primarily about self-knowledge and finding out more about who you are, understanding your decisions, actions, thoughts, feelings, etc., and focuses on Mindfulness and how we relate to what life brings us on the path and acknowledges that pain is an unavoidable part of life.

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy focuses on challenging and changing unhelpful thoughts, beliefs, attitudes, and behaviors and the development of personal coping strategies that target solving current problems.

  • Children’s Therapies address the emotional lives of young children and adolescents and provide a specialized counseling approach to help children deal with complex emotional content related to fear, loss, traumatic events, and feelings and behavioral challenges.
